How does Stashzilla actually work?
Stashzilla runs quietly in your system tray and remembers everything you copy. Press a global hotkey to open the paste overlay, search your entire clipboard history, and click any clip to paste it straight into whatever app you were using. Pin the clips you reuse, organize the rest into collections, and let capture rules and AI tag them automatically so they are easy to find later.
Do I need to create an account before I can download the app?
Yes. You register first at zillasoft.io, and the download links appear in your dashboard immediately after sign-up. No credit card is needed. The account takes about 30 seconds to set up and is required to manage your trial and subscription.
Does Stashzilla work without an internet connection?
Core clipboard capture, search, and paste work fully offline. An internet connection is only needed when you first create your account, when the app verifies your subscription in the background, and when you use cloud sync or AI features. After a successful verification, the app keeps working offline. If it cannot verify for more than 24 hours (1 hour during a trial), it will prompt you to reconnect.
Is my clipboard data private? Can ZillaSoft read it?
Yes, it is private. Your clips are stored encrypted on your device, and when a clip is copied while you are signed out nothing is captured at all. Cloud sync of pinned clips and collections is end-to-end encrypted before it ever leaves your device, so ZillaSoft cannot read your synced data. Only you hold the encryption key.
Does Stashzilla capture passwords and other sensitive data?
Stashzilla recognizes API keys, passwords, and similar secrets and masks their preview in the list so they are not shown in plain text. You can also write capture rules to skip or redact anything that matches a pattern, and clips are never captured while you are signed out.
What platforms does Stashzilla support?
Windows and Linux, with macOS support coming soon. Stashzilla works across every app: browsers, editors, chat, email, and anywhere else you copy and paste.
Do I need a credit card to try Stashzilla?
No. Every install comes with a 15-day free trial with full Premium feature access. No card required. You only need to subscribe if you want to keep using it after the trial.
What happens when my trial ends?
If you have not subscribed, the app enters a read-only state. Your clips are safe; you just cannot capture new ones or use premium features until you pick a plan.
What are AI credits?
Stashzilla's AI features share one monthly credit pool. A smart tag costs 1 credit and an AI paste transform costs 10 credits. Standard includes 1,000 credits per month, Premium 3,000, and Enterprise 5,000 per user. Rule-based tagging is always free and unlimited, so you only spend credits on the AI features.
What's the difference between monthly and annual billing?
Annual billing saves you money on every plan compared to monthly. Standard drops from $2.99 to $1.99/month; Premium from $4.99 to $3.99/month; Enterprise from $6.99 to $5.99/seat/month. All are billed as a single yearly charge.
Can I switch plans or cancel?
Any time. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing, and cancellations keep your plan active until the end of the billing period. Your clips stay on your device permanently and are never deleted.
Can I use Stashzilla on more than one computer?
Yes, with a Premium or Enterprise plan. Cloud sync keeps your pinned clips and collections in sync across all your devices automatically, end-to-end encrypted. On a Standard plan, clips are local only; you can move them between machines manually using export and import.
Are there discounts for teams?
Yes. Both Premium and Enterprise plans include tiered discounts. Premium bulk licenses: 5% off for 5 or more seats, 10% off for 15 or more, and 15% off for 30 or more. Enterprise volume discounts: 5% off for 50 to 99 seats, 10% off for 100 to 199, and 15% off for 200 or more. Discounts apply automatically on the pricing page.
What is the ZillaSoft Suite?
One subscription that includes both Snipzilla and Stashzilla. You pay for Snipzilla, and for only $2 more per month you get Stashzilla too ($3 per seat on Enterprise). The Suite is available on Premium and Enterprise. If you already subscribe to one app, upgrading to the Suite from the Suite page keeps your billing period and prorates the difference.
